About Me
Dr. Christen Priddie is currently an Assistant Research Scientist with NSSE at Indiana University Bloomington. Her research agenda centers on four main areas: Black students in higher education, Black women in academia, equitable STEM environments, and QuantCrit. Her primary goal through her research is to foster equitable environments in higher education contexts through her work. Dr. Priddie’s work is nationally recognized, as her dissertation won the 2022 Bobby Wright ASHE Dissertation of the Year Award.
Prior to her work as a Research Scientist, she served as a research project associate with NSSE during her Ph.D. program and a program coordinator of Project Knowledge, a program designed to foster success among first-year Black STEM students at an HBCU, during her Master’s program.
Along with her work at IU, she currently serves as a research consultant for entities, such as the College + University Teaching Environment Survey (CUTE), IU School of Medicine, and United Negro College Fund (UNCF).
She received a Ph.D. in Higher Education from Indiana University Bloomington, a M.S. in General Psychology from Virginia State University, and a B.A. in Psychology from San Diego State University.
