About Me
Dr. Christen Priddie is currently an Assistant Research Scientist with NSSE at Indiana University Bloomington. Her research interests has focused on four main areas: Black students in higher education, Black women in academia, equitable STEM environments, and QuantCrit. Her primary goal through her research is to foster equitable environments in higher education contexts through her work. Dr. Priddie’s work is nationally recognized, with her being awarded the 2022 Bobby Wright ASHE Dissertation of the Year Award.
Prior to her work as a Research Scientist, she served as a research project associate with NSSE during her doctoral program and a program coordinator of Project Knowledge, a program designed to foster success among first-year Black STEM students at an HBCU, during her Master’s program.
Along with her primary work at IU, she currently serves as a research consultant for entities, such as the College + University Teaching Environment Survey (CUTE), IU School of Medicine, and United Negro College Fund (UNCF). She is currently serving as the Co-Director of the newly developed College and University Educators Survey (CUES), a project aimed at assessing Staff and Administrator contributions to assessment practices, student engagement, and student success.
